I. AIMS. 
1. Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to ask and answer questions about days of the week.
2. Skills:  speaking, listening and reading
II. LANGUAGE FOCUS:
- Vocabulary: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday,Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- Sentence patterns: - What day is it today?  - It is Monday
III. TEACHING AIDS:
1. Teacher’s: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette.

I. Warm up:(5’)
- Sing a song: “ Where are you from? ”And then T write today’s date on the board. Point it and say Today is + name of the day. And write the day on the board. T use a calendar, point to each day and tell ps that they go to school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednessdays, Thursdays, Fridays,  and they study English on………
Ps sing the song.
II. New lesson:(25’)
 1. Look, listen and repeat.
- T tell ps that they are going to read a story in which ps ask and answer questions about days of the week.
- T ask ps to look at four pictures and read the story. And then ask a few questions such as: Where are the ps? Who’s the teacher? What day is it?When is the next E lesson?
- T play the recording more than once.
- For ps listen and repeat.
  2. Point and say:
- T tell ps that they are going to practicse asking the question What day is it today? And answering with It’s + ( name of the day)
- Ask them point to the name of each day on the calendar and repeat each twice.
- Drill ps on the questions and answers chorally before getting them to work in pairs. Check their performance as a class.
* Work in pair. Ask your partners what day is it today.
- T tell ps that they are going to practise asking questions about the days of the week, using what day is it? and answering with the name of a specific day.

I. Warm up:(5’)
Greet the class and ask what day is it today? Write the answer on the board. Then draw the calendar, showing one week with abbreviated days. Tell ps that those are the abbreviasions for the days used in a calendar or timetable. Point to each abbreviasion and get ps to tell you the full form.

II. New lesson:(25’)
 3.  Listen and tick 
a. Pre-listening:
    How many sentences?
- Explanes the title.
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen to three dialouges about days of the week and tick the correct pictures.
- Look at the pictures to identify the different days of the week.
-  Have Ps  read aloud the days in E before playing the recording.
- Get Ss to predict .
b. While- listening. 
- Play the recoding (twice). Have Ss listen and write the correct sentenes.
- Play the recording sentence by sentence for Ss to check their answers.
- Give them time to write the words in the gaps independently .
- Get Ps to swap their answers before you check as a class. Monitor the activity and offer help if necessary.

4. Look and write.
a.  Pre- writing:
- Ask Ps to look at the Activity 5 p19. Tell Ps that they are going to look at the table and complete the sentences with the names of the days.
 - Have them read the tables  and sentences then check their understanding.
b. While- writing:
- Ask Ps to read the question and do the task independtly.
- Get them to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. If there is enough time , have the class read the completed text aloud.
- Give feedback.

5. Let’s sing:
- T tell ps that they are going to sing the song We have E today.
- Devide the class into two groups, one group singing the questions and the other singing the answers.

Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by having the class sing the song We have E today befoere introducing the new lesson.

II. New lesson:(25’)
   1. Look, listen and repeat.
- T tell ps that they are going to read a story in which ps ask and answer questions about weekly activities.
- T ask ps to look at the pictures and read the text. Get them to identify the characters and the setting of the conversation by asking Who’s this? Where are they? What does Nam do on Fridays? What does Quan do on Saturday?
- T play the recording more than once.
- Ps listen and repeat.
- Do choral and individual repetition, pointing to the charactors speaking.
- Ask a few pairs to role- play the conversation
  2. Point and say
a. Vocabulary:
- Have Ps look at the pictures. Teach them how to read the words and phrases under each picture: help my prarents, visit my grandparents, visit my friends.

- Tell ps that they are going to revise what they have learnt in lessons 1 and 2. Get them to work in pairs to prepare exchanges based on the questions provided. Remind them to answer with facts about themselves.

- Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by getting the class to play spelling Bee, using the days of the week. Then invite a pair of ps to act out the exchanges in lesson 2, activity 2

II. New lesson:(25’)
 4. Listen and number :
a. Pre-listening:
- T looks at the books and sets the scence:
        How many pictures are there?
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen to four dialouges about what the children do on different days of the week and number the pictures
- Ask Ps to look at the pictures and identify each activity then guess .
b. While-listening: 
- Play the recording all the way through for Ps to listen. Play it again for them to do the task.
- Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class. Play the recording again to confirm the answers. 
- Give explanations for the answers which Ps find difficult

- Ask Ps to look at the Activity 5 p21. Tell Ps that they are going to complete the sentences, using the given information.

- Get them to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. If there is enough time , have the class read the completed text aloud.
