LESSON 2: 1-2-3
 
I. AIMS: 
1. Knowledge: 
- By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to ask and anwer questions about frequency.
- Sentence patterns: How often .........?I....everyday/once/twice a week/a month.
- Vocabulary:always, usually, sometimes, often, once, twice, partner, project...
2. Skills:  speaking, listening and reading
3. Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson and work hard.

2. Warm up : (5’)
- Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by sing a song: This is the way we do things
3. New lesson: (30’)

* Activity 1: Look, listen and repeat. (8’)
- Ask Ss to look at the pic and present people in it. 
- Tell the class that they are going to read a story. Have them look at the pictures and guess the story is about. Check their comprehension by pointing at each picture to elecit their answers to these quetions: What’s his/her name? What’s he/ she talking about?/ What kind of information is Linda looking for? How often does she come to the library?
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. 
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times.
- Practice with ps.
- Devide the class into 2 groups. Asks practice in pairs- Ss practice in pairs.
- Go round and check ps can repeat and understand the dialogue. 1.Look, listen and repeat.
* Activity 2: Point and say: (15’)
a. Vocabulary:
- Have Ss look at the pictures. Teach them how to read the words and phrases under each picture
+ checking: Slap the board.

b. Model sentences: 
A: How often do you study with a partner  ?

 c. Practice:
- Tell the class they are going to practise asking and answering quetion about frequency, using  How often .........?I....everyday/once/twice a week/a month.
- Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name and the words to fill the gaps.
- Write the whole sentences on the board.
- Have Ss repeat the sentences a few times.
- Repeat the procedure with the second picture.
- Ask Ss work in pairs.
- Pairwork. Pupils practise in pairs. Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds and intonation), and offer help when necessary.
- Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible.
- Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language.
- Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation.

* Activity 3:  Let’s play. (8’)
- Tell the class that they are going to complete a crossword puzzle. Remind them how to do it: they should look at each picture and complete the corresponding word, using the given letters as hints.
 
- Get them to look at the crossword puzzle and the pictures. Start with Picture 1 and ask them to think of a verb that describes it. Then tell them to check whether the spelling fits the letters/boxes in the puzzle. Repeat the procedure for the rest of the pictures. The first pupil who completes the puzzle correctly is the winner.
 
- Ss work independently. Monitor the activity.
 
- Meanwhile, copy the crossword puzzle on the board and invite one or two pupils to complete it. Ask them to read out the words for the class to repeat. Ask the class to compare their answers to those on the board.
 
- Have the class make sentences with the words and phrases from the puzzle. 6. Let’s play.

- If there is not enough time, give the activity as homework and talk about the daily routines in the next lesson as a warm up activity. 6. Project.

- Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension.
- Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few Ps to read the statements aloud.
