IV. PROCEDURE:

I. Warm up:(5’)
- Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by having the class sing the song What did you do on Teacher’s day? Invite a group to do actions in front of the class while the rest are singing.
Ps sing the song. A group does actions.
 
II. New lesson:(25’)
 1. Look, listen and repeat. (10’)
- Tell the class that they are going to read a story in which Quan and Peter are talking about Mai’s last birthday party.
- Have them look at the pictures and check their comprehension by pointing at each picture to elecit their answers to these quetions: What are their names? What are they talking about? Did Peter go to Mai’s birthday party? What did Peter do at the party? ( Peter and Quan are talking at school . In picture a: Quan ask Peter if he went to Mai’s birthday party and Peter says yes. In picture b: Quan asks What did you do there? and Peter answers I ate a lot of food. In pictures c and d: they contunue to talk about the party and Peter says they sang lots of songs and had a good time)
- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. 
- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times.
- Practice with ps.
- Devide the class into 2 groups. Asks practice in pairs.
- Go round and check ps can repeat and understand the dialogue.
2. Point and say: (14’)
a. Vocabulary:
- Review the past simple forms of the verbs : have- had, play- played, chat- chatted , watch- watched.
+ checking: Slap the board.

 c. Practice:
- Tell Ss that they are going to practice saying the sentences:  We had nice food and drink. We played hide-and-seek.We chatted with friends. We watched cartoons.
- Point to each picture and ask the question What did you do at the party? for Ps to answer chorally, using the prompts under each picture.
- Have Ps practise asking and answering in pairs. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necesssary
d. Production: 
- Role play.
3.Talk.(6’)
- Tell ps that they are going to practise more with their friends.ask and answer questions about your daily routines.
- Point to each character eliciting the name.
- Ask ps to guess what the children say.
- Fill  the graps and write the sentences on the board.
- Get ps to repeat the sentences a few times.
- Get ps work in pair of three to interact.
- Call a few pairs practise in front of the class.

        How many sentences are there?
- Tell Ps that they are going to listen and circle a or b to complete the sentences. 
- Ask them to read the four gapped sentences and guess the word to complete them.
b. While-listening: 
- Play the recording all the way through for Ps to listen. Play it again for them to do the task.
- Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class. Play the recording again to confirm the answers. 
- Give explanations for the answers which Ps find difficult

a.  Pre- writing:
- Ask Ps to look at the Activity 5 p27. Tell them that they are going to answer some questions about what they did.

- Get them to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. If there is enough time , have the class read the completed text aloud.
- Give feedback.

6. Let’s play: (5’)
Tic- tac-toe
 - Tell the class that they are going to play the game Tic-tac- toe.
- Explain how the game is played. Tell the class that they have to complete the sentences in order to mark a box with an X or O.
- Set a time limit for the class to play the game in pairs. When time is over, invite a few Ps to read aloud their questions and put them on the board. Then invite some pairs to practise asking and answering the questioons . Then give feedback.

- Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by inviting some Ps to read their answers in Lesson 2, Activity 5
Point each drawing and say the address.
II. New lesson:(25’)
1. Listen and repeat. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to practise saying two syllable words with the stress on different syllables. 
- Explain that in a word with more than one syllable, one of the syllables is usually said with more emphasis then the rest( eg: ’party, ’Sunday, en’joyed, in’vited.)
- Play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few time. Then put the words on the board, play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few more times. After that, write the sentences on the board.
- Play the recording a few more times and let Ps say the sentences , paying attention to the target sounds.
- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds, words and sentences until Ps feel confident.
- Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.
2. Mark the word stress. Then say the words aloud. 
- Tell Ps that they are going to read and mark the word stress. Then say the words aloud.
- Give Ps a few seconds to read the words in silence and do the task.
- Get them to swap and compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class.
- Invite som Ps to read aloud all the words.
- If time allows , ask the class to make sentences with the words.

- Set a time limit for them to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.
- Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class.

- Remind them to use capital letters for the first letter of the word at the beginning of each sentence and the names of people, and to put a comma or full stop in the appropriate places.
- Get them to read their writing in pairs before inviting two or three Ps to read their answers aloud.

- Tell the class that they are going to think about what present to give a classmate for his/her birthday.

- Invite one or tow groups to present their ideas. 
7. Colour the stars 
- Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension.
- Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few Ps to read the statements aloud.
- Give further support to Ps who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives.
